Sky Habitat HousesArtist’s Impression :: The Sky Habitat Condo :: Houses in the Sky

Sky Habitat is beautifully designed, with a classic timeless architecture. It is a delightful place to live and to raise a family in. Its architect, Moshe Safdie, has in the course of a long and illustrious career also built major projects like the United States Institute of Peace Headquarters in Washington DC, the Yad Vashem Holocaust Museum in Jerusalem Israel, and Singapore’s Marina Bay Sands.

The design for this Bishan condo echoes that of Habitat ’67, widely considered an architectural landmark and one of the most recognizable and significant buildings in both Montreal and Canada. Both projects reflect Safdie’s humane design approach and philosophy of responding to human needs and aspirations.

Sky Habitat Condo :: Overview

This project occupies a prime site in the town centre of Bishan, a highly popular residential estate in the Central Region. It is surrounded by all the necessary amenities, including some of Singapore’s top educational institutions.

Moshe Safdie has conceived this Bishan condominium to integrate the benefits of suburban homes with the economics and density of a modern urban condominium building: he turns the high-rise apartment into a “house” – a “house” with its own identity, openness, and personal garden space.

The 38-storey towers are a 3-dimensional matrix of homes, gardens, terraces & sky bridges. Some units have private gardens that open up to the sky. Wind & light permeate the whole structure.

Newest Condo near Sky Habitat . JadeScape

On August 30, 2018, in Sky Habitat, by Developer Sales Team

The Bishan / Marymount area has not had any new condominium launches since Sky Habitat and Sky Vue held their VIP Previews 5 to 6 years ago. Since then, Sky Vue has completely sold out for a while, and Sky Habitat is close to selling out. Just one 2 bedroom terrace unit ($1.9xM) and 4 penthouses (at over $4m) left.

So if you have been looking for a more affordable brand new unit around this location, the best bet is the new JadeScape launch coming soon in September 2018. This new development is on the site of the former Shunfu Ville HUDC, within 3 minutes walk of Marymount MRT station. In fact, the Jadescape showflat is located, coincidentally, beside Skyvue and Sky Habitat, at Bishan Central. The entrance is via Bishan Place, 3 minutes walk from Junction 8 and Bishan MRT station, so it is very accessible.

While JadeScape may not have a shopping centre at its doorstep like Sky Habitat, it has something else that should appeal to nature and outdoor lovers. It is within walking distance of the MacRitchie Reservoir and Park, and high floor units may even get sideway pocket views of the nature reserves and water bodies there. In fact, the shape of MacRitchie Reservoir has been mirrored into the outline of the pools and water features of this project.

This design concept, of reflecting the reservoir and nature reserve into Jadescape, is the brainchild of world-renowned architect, Paul Noritaka Tange of Tange Associates. As a natural extension of that concept, the landscaping in the development mirrors the waterfalls as well. The positioning and finishing of this project is at a higher level than mass-market.

The JadeScape condo location is also close to a food haven. By cutting past Shunfu Market & Food Centre, and the Thomson Community Club, you will emerge within 4 minutes onto Thomson Road. That stretch of Thomson Road is lined with rows of old shophouses housing a range of culinary fare, from hawker delights to trendy restaurants and pubs, and ice-cream creameries.

If that sounds like something that appeals to you, you might want to sign up to view the JadeScape showflat. It’s huge, certainly something worth looking at. Spans 2 floors, covering 22,000 sq ft, and has 5 show units inside. One example of each type of unit, from a one bedder, all the way up to a 5 bedder. One of these will showcase Smart Home living, with examples of Smart Home features that can be incorporated into your unit.

Park Colonial at the New Bishan

On August 25, 2018, in Uncategorized, by Developer Sales Team

Sky Habitat is now almost fully sold, as at 18 August 2018. Only one 2 bedroom + study + terrace unit remains, except for a few penthouses priced upwards of SGD$4 million. So if you are looking for smaller units in a similarly well-located new condominium, with good upside potential, you might want to consider Park Colonial, the project that launched on the night of 5th July 2018 and managed to sell 310 units there and then.

Park Colonial is right beside Woodleigh MRT station. A couple of side gates from it open directly at the entrance to the station. And on the other side of the road, accessible via the underground link across the station, will arise the upcoming Woodleigh Mall that is slated to complete at around the same time. Woodleigh Mall is not going to be just a small neighbourhood shopping centre; it will be pretty sizeable, with reports putting it at half the size of Nex, the biggest mall in the north-east of Singapore.

Park Colonial is said to be in the next Bishan, because it is located at Bidadari, the promising new estate that has been likened to Bishan when it first saw the light of day over 25 years ago. Like Bishan, Bidadari is planned and built from scratch on empty land. And it is similarly within 10 to 15 minutes drive of the city centre, and on an MRT line that goes directly into the city as well.

Bishan has risen to become a favoured home-owners location since then, which was why Sky Habitat commands a premium price. For its time, it was priced at easily over 20% above its market. In the same way, Park Colonial elicits a lot of interest, due to its location. Its colonial themed design also plays a part, with its beautifully sculpted landscaping and boulevard of trees.

So much so, that after selling 310 units on the 5th July night, it continued to draw strong sales even with the cooling measures in place by then. It went on to sell over another 100 units within a month after that, even with the showflat closed half the time, as the developer CEL had decided to halt sales before re-launching the 2nd phase at a higher price.

Part of the success of Park Colonial’s sales can also be attributed to its surprisingly reasonable pricing vis-a-vis other new launches. If you are interested to know more, or to arrange a viewing of the Park Colonial showflat (by appointment only at this point in time), please do drop us a line. We also have the full floor plan brochure to send to you, and will be a glad to answer any questions you may have.
